Employee self-service

Engaged and satisfied employees make the difference in store quality and performance. Employees like to give their own input and have control over important matters. For example, specifying availability and submitting a leave request. Employees can arrange many matters directly themselves via the R&R Job App. For example, they have access to the current schedule, services can be offered and taken over and they can see the hours worked and the leave balance. In the case of students, the school schedule can also be loaded.

A leave request follows a standard flow that can be set up according to the requirements and needs of the organisation. Employees can submit their leave request via the R&R Job App. Via the management interface, their request is then forwarded to the designated manager or supervisor for approval. If the request is approved, the employee receives a notification, and the availability is automatically taken into account in the schedule.

Communication with employees

Clear communication with employees is extremely important to maintain employee satisfaction. Because of the error sensitivity factor, it is not practical to do this via different systems or tools, such as WhatsApp groups. R&R facilitates easy and direct communication between management and staff. This is important for forwarding any changes to the schedule or other important matters. Any changes are implemented immediately and in full, and as a result, you work and communicate through a single system, a ‘single point of truth’. This has a strong positive impact on your staff's sense of involvement.

Swapping shifts

Employees require a certain degree of flexibility in their work. The availability of a large number of flexible employees, such as young people or students, can vary greatly from week to week, and for this reason the Job App can be used to accept shifts, swap shifts or take over a shift. The system automatically takes into account the required level and cost profile, based on age, for example. The shift is then only offered to suitable employees, thereby keeping labour costs down while maintaining the desired quality in the retail establishment, at the right level.
