In this edition: looser regulations for 13-, 14- and 15-year-olds under the Working Hours Act & the end of the transitional Sunday allowance.

More flexible regulations 13-14-15 year olds Working Hours Act

As can be read in the Government Gazette (see: officielenbekendmakingen.nl), a number of new rules are in effect as of Nov. 18 that will make flexible deployment of a 13-14-15 year old easier.

Obviously, these adjustments were also made in R&R as of the week 47 rosters.

NOTE: If the week 47 roster has already been created, it often helps to delete a shift briefly and re-enter it, then the new rules will be applied. On shifts newly added to the roster, the new rules are automatically applied.

What has changed?

If no school roster is present for a 13- or 14-year-old, R&R cannot correctly check all rules. In that case, a warning will be given that the school roster is missing and the check must still be done outside R&R.

End of transitional Sunday allowance

How time flies! It has already been three years since the Sunday supplement transition rule was introduced for the CLA Food. Employees employed since before January 1, 2022 were still entitled to a 100% allowance for part of the hours worked on Sundays for the past three years. This transitional arrangement runs through week 52 of 2024 (For more details, see https://www.rr-wfm.com/blog-wijziging-zondagtoeslag/ ).

As of week 1 of 2025, Sunday supplements of 100% will no longer be granted in R&R and all employees entitled to Sunday supplements will be granted the "regular" Sunday supplement of 50%. 

The information in the employee screen regarding this arrangement will remain visible for a while and will eventually disappear.
