R&R product update Sept. 18, 2023

This edition focuses on roster comments, R&R Insights, excluding employees from payroll export, password reset from user management, the new Job App and bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

Roster comments feature coming soon

Sometimes assigning a time and department is not enough to roster someone and you want to give an additional instruction. Soon you will be able to place a comment in the roster in R&R, which will then be visible to the employee as part of his/her roster in the R&R job app.

Would you like to make a note in the roster because you are making the roster with one of your colleagues, or as a reminder to yourself why you have scheduled a different shift? Showing the note in the job app is optional, turn it off to make the notification visible only to yourself and colleagues who can open the roster in R&R.

R&R Insights Preview

A few weeks ago, we made it possible to filter by contract types in R&R Insights, allowing for more detailed insight into planning and completion. Of course, we didn't stop there... With the upcoming R&R Insights release, it will be possible to apply these filters to individual columns. Need insight into the utilization of your flexible hours versus your fixed hours? Look no further, this is a few clicks away.

Being able to break down data by contract type is very valuable, but at the end of the day it is only one axis that your hours can be broken down by. Wouldn't it be convenient to be able to do this by activity and hour type as well? We think so, so those are included in the upcoming release. Sick hours vs. productive hours? Understanding your Sunday allowances? Everything* you can imagine is now with a few mouse clicks to put together yourself.

* Only Roster, Realization and Disbursement data can be filtered in detail. For Budgets and Standard, this level of detail is not available.

Excluding employees from payroll export

When you use an automatic payroll export, sometimes you have employees who really shouldn't be included. Think for example of the temporary workers you do not pay directly yourself. To facilitate this, it is now possible to indicate in the contract of an employee that this should be excluded from the Payroll.

Employees whose Exclude from payroll is set to Yes will still be shown on export reports and in payouts, but will not be included in exports to external systems.

Of course, this can only be done for employees manually entered into R&R. Employees put into R&R via a link cannot be manually modified. Not all HRM interfaces with R&R support marking employees who should be excluded from payroll. If this is desirable in your situation, be sure to let us know so we can look into the possibilities.

Password reset via user management

As an administrator, it is now possible to reset the passwords of R&R users.
Users whose passwords have been reset can no longer use their current passwords with immediate effect and must therefore create a new password using the email they received for that purpose.

It is not possible for administrators to enter a new password for the user themselves.

The new Job App will go live soon!

The final phase has arrived for testing the new Job App. The first stores have already switched over to the new app for testing, so practically speaking, they already have the new app in use! When the Job App officially goes live, there will of course be an update on that.

R&R Time 3.0 hardware clocks: no more repairs or updates possible

Unfortunately, we can no longer do any repairs or updates to the R&R Time 3.0 clocks. These clocks are severely outdated in terms of software and the hardware is no longer available (since 2 years).

Because we can no longer maintain the software, there may be security and continuity issues, for example, in the event of problems we can no longer update the clocks.

When a defect occurs or the clocks need replacement, we can no longer do repairs or updates. That is, if defects and/or other problems occur, the entire clock set must be replaced. In that case, we both standardly offer the complete new R&R Time 4.2 sets.

Unsure if your organization uses R&R Time 3.0 clocks? R&R Time 3.0 are gray or black R&R hardware clocks that may be hanging in your store(s) or other location(s). If you have a black R&R clock with a white border around it, you are already using R&R Time 4.2.

Bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements

In the past weeks our teams have been busy fixing bugs and making (small) quality-of-life improvements. These changes are all aimed at making the daily interaction with R&R even smoother. We have implemented the following changes, among others:
